KBN Helping Hands and Wellness Foundation implements disability inclusion in Uganda through a targeted disability and support Program that focuses on advocacy, financial inclusion and the socio-economic empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (PWDs). By confronting systemic barriers and deep-rooted social stigmas, the initiative champions the fundamental rights of marginalised individuals and ensures their voices are heard in local governance. Through active community engagement and legal sensitisation, the foundation works tirelessly to dismantle the physical and institutional obstacles that prevent PWDs from fully participating in civic life, paving the way for a more equitable and protective society.

How we do it

The organization executes its inclusion strategy through the following core pillars;

Advocacy runs: The foundation hosts the KBN Annual Disability Run to raise public awareness, combat societal stigma and campaign for the fundamental rights of Persons with Disabilities.

Financial inclusion initiatives: KBN partners with national platforms such as the National Disability Symposium organized by the Ministry of Gender, Labor and Social Development to help Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) access custom financial services, skills training and employment opportunities.

National policy alignment: The Organization actively participates in national disability events alongside state officials to advance institutional support and celebrate the unique talents of Persons with Disabilities.

Targeted care initiatives: Through its dedicated Disability Support Program, the organization directly creates supportive environments that empower vulnerable children and their families.
