KBN Helping Hands and Wellness Foundation splits the efforts of education and empowerment into four closely linked core initiatives; the Educate a Child Initiative, Empower and Excel Junior Mentorship Program, Youth Empowerment and Women Empowerment.

How we do it

The foundation executes its Health and Well-being initiatives through the following direct community methods;

School retention Interventions: Through its Educate a Child Initiative, the foundation steps in to support vulnerable children in various schools such as Bishop’s West Primary School in Mukono District who face high absenteeism or dropouts due to a lack of school fees, proper uniforms and scholastic materials.

Specialised trauma and mental health care: Recognising that orphans and children from vulnerable backgrounds face deep mental health struggles, KBN engages community groups to provide specialised emotional support and care structures within educational settings.

Grassroots community ssensitisation: The foundation deploys team members to conduct educational community outreach empowering entire vulnerable neighborhoods to shift their mindsets positively towards formal schooling and children’s rights.

Peer-to Peer academic inspiration: KBN coordinates motivational partnerships such as bringing student teams from UMCC Kyambogo University to interact direct with vulnerable children and youth to provide mentorship, inspiration and empowerment

Socio-economic and rights training: Under its youth and women’s tracks, the foundation uses university advocacy workshops and agricultural hubs to train individuals in economic self-reliance, leadership and human rights.

Empower and excel junior mentorship program: The organization implements its youth focused track through a localized branch known as the Empower and Excel Junior Mentorship Program based out of Kyambogo-Nabisunsa in Kampala. The initiative targets youth and adolescents by offering professional career guidance, practical goal-setting workshops and long-term mentorship mapping to prepare young students for life after formal schooling.
