KBN Helping Hands and Wellness Foundation implements its health focused interventions through an array of interconnected community care model rather than a single standalone policy. The Foundation’s health portfolio is broken down into specific pillars targeting Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) Health Education, HIV/AIDs Awareness, Drug Abuse Prevention and Mental Health Support.
The foundation executes its Health and Well-being initiatives through the following direct community methods;
WASH infrastructure: KBN targets preventable waterborne illnesses by building rain water harvesting systems and underground wells. We also promote localized sanitation by constructing public and household pit latrines to block the transmission of Cholera, typhoid and dysentery.
Behavioral hygiene education: The foundation hosts community health sensitization drives to teach vital everyday hygiene, including the 30-Second handwashing techniques with clean water and soap, safe home water filtration and proper oral care.
Trauma-informed mental health care: Operating directly within school eco systems, KBN implements specialized psychological and emotional support structures to assist vulnerable orphans and children dealing with profound family loss or childhood trauma.
Targeted substance abuse: The organization conducts Youth-Centric Drug Abuse Prevention Programs across local communities, addressing the psychological and socio- economic risks associated with substance dependencies.
HIV/AIDs and elderly support outreach: KBN fields specific educational campaigns targeting reproductive safety, stigma minimization and diagnostic awareness alongside coordinating tailored home care medical delivery networks for vulnerable, isolated elderly populations.
