Our health education staff plays a vital role in improving community wellbeing by promoting health practices across all age groups mainly focusing on addressing health issues from chronic diseases to mental health.
Health education helps people to make heathy choices, prevent injury and sickness and also reduce risky behavior.
We encourage our communities speak out about their own experiences and also to share their point of view with others and take action. Mental health issues in our communities are complex and challenging but by coming together and increasing our understanding and raising awareness, we always create a difference.
We help people in rural or under privileged areas to access health care services by improving the already existing health facilities as well as encouraging the construction of new health facilities especially in remote areas. We also hire medical doctors, nurses, mid-wives and counselors to provide quality services to the vulnerable communities.
We encourage people to set up community gardens where families can grow their own fresh produce. We also promote healthy diets to help protect our communities against malnutrition and also its forms as well as a range of non-communicable diseases (NCDs) and other conditions.
Vaccines are the safest way to protect against diseases like measles, meningitis, pneumonia, polio and tetanus. The aim of our vaccination campaigns in the community is to rapidly create awareness on immunisation and its benefits. Therefore, through these campaigns, we eliminate or control diseases and reduce their transmission to vulnerable populations.
